Standard 2: Teachers establish a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students. 

One of our class assignments included taking down detailed field notes on one specific day in our classroom. The notes included objectives of the day, learning strategies and techniques observed, physical characteristics, set up, flow, and class culture. I have included my field notes and observations including a classroom diagram that demonstrate learning in establishing a respectful and inclusive environment for a diverse population of students. This is related to Element A of Teacher Quality Standard 2. 

During online learning we also had a guest speaker, Natalee Jacobson, who is the PSD General Education Behavior Specialist, via Zoom talk to us about behavior and de-escalation strategies. Her presentation was extremely helpful in learning about behavior and how to handle difficult situations with students. I've included her hand out on the subject titled Pump the Breaks. This connects with Element C of Teacher Quality Standard 2.
