About Educ 350

For this class I had the wonderful opportunity of having  Linda Teixeira Williams as a teacher. The goal of EDUC 350 is to provide integrated theories of learning and teaching through practicum experience at a local middle school, in my case Boltz Middle School. We learned to be responsive to the individual needs of all learners in the classrooms we observed. This experience provided a basic understanding of the nature of middle school learners including students with educational disabilities, those who were gifted and talented, and students from culturally ethnically, economically, special needs and linguistically diverse backgrounds. I was not able to be placed in an art class, but go to observe a 6th grade dual-lingual Social Studies class and put my bilingual skills to work. It was a wonderful experience while it lasted and was unfortunately interrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic quarantine. Despite the circumstances, our teacher was able to adapt the curriculum to still provide learning and a meaningful experience even as we had to transition to online learning.
